Resurrection Cookies

Read whole recipe before beginning; try to do together Saturday night before Easter Sunday.

Ingredients:
1 cup whole pecans
3 egg whites
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vinegar
pinch salt

You also need:
Wooden spoon
Bible (I think I may print out all the verses on a single sheet for next year.)
Zipploc bag
Tape

Preheat oven to 300°
- Place pecans in zipper baggie and let children beat them up with wooden spoon; John 19: 1-3
- smell the vinegar; John 19:28-30
- add egg whites to vinegar; John 10:10-11
- taste salt; tears & bitterness; Luke 23:27
- add sugar; sweetest part of story is Jesus loving us and wanting us to know Him;
Psalm 34:8 & John 3:16
- beat with mixer for 11-15 min until stiff peaks are formed; white represents purity; Isaiah 1:18 & John 3:1-3
- fold in nuts; drop onto waxed paper-covered cookie sheet; tomb; Matt. 27: 65-66
- cookie sheet in oven, oven OFF; tape to seal oven.
- sadness at leaving cookies; John 16:20 & 22

Sunday morning
- cookies are hollow! Matt. 28: 1-9

We had a big time doing this together - even Aubrie got in on the action this year!
